Cargill offers R&D-services

Food companies who want to optimize their product development, can benefit form the Cargill R&D-facilities in Vilvoorde, Belgium. “We put our knowledge and experience available to third parties so that they can benefit from our know how and our modern laboratories”, tells Nils Sips, R&D Director Technical Service & Go-To Market EMEA.

In March, Cargill opened its newly expanded European Research and Development Centre in Vilvoorde, Belgium. It is the company’s primary food technology centre serving Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The expansion in Vilvoorde is in line with the highest technological and food safety standards. The R&D Centre now features a new state-of-the-art pilot plant, adding 5.000m² of innovation space where Cargill’s 145 scientists and technologists can develop new ingredients, perfect reformulations and test new manufacturing processes.

Cargill now offers the food industry the possibility of consultancy and performance of research in the modern laboratories. Nils Sips explains: “Our fermentation and application pilot plants and laboratories feature the latest analysis techniques. We can support companies with state-of-the art research. These services are particularly interesting for diary, bakery, confectionary and pharma industries. For Cargill this is a new approach, we want to build new relations with our customers.”
