New Zealand’s FoodHQ partner in World Food Innovations

The FoodHQ Innovation Club has become partner of World Food Innovations, an internationally recognised online portal that profiles innovative agfood solutions to attract global business.

WorldFoodInnovations.com, an initiative by Food Valley, the Netherlands, was established in 2016. Food Valley has built up a deep insight into the challenges of the agrifood industry and vast network of companies and knowledge institutions that can help to tackle these challenges effectively. Food Valley focuses on speeding up the innovation performance of companies both in the Netherlands and abroad. The online portal offers excellent opportunities to discover and share innovation insights, to attract global business interest and most important, to get connected.

The FoodHQ Innovation Club helps food and beverage companies tackle the multiple challenges associated with innovating their products and businesses to meet consumer demands in New Zealand and overseas. It provides one-door access to 2,200+ researchers, leading-edge knowledge, and innovation tools from internationally recognised research and innovation organisations.

FoodHQ Acting Programme Director Claire Massey says FoodHQ has had a strong relationship with Food Valley since it was established in 2013. “The associate membership agreement strengthens our relationship with Food Valley while providing New Zealand food and beverage companies with a unique opportunity to market innovative products to an international audience,” she says. “It is one of the tools we are using to help grow New Zealand’s reputation for food and beverage innovation and increase exports,” says Professor Massey.

Food Valley Director Roger van Hoesel says he is looking forward to collaborating more closely with FoodHQ and the food and beverage companies linked to FoodHQ. “New Zealand and the Netherlands have strong business and academic associations, especially with FoodHQ’s partners Massey University, Riddet Institute, Plant & Food Research and AgResearch – this agreement will strengthen the relationship between the two countries.” “The world food innovations portal aims to help businesses overcome distance to market issues – it’s a practical tool that will help overcome the gap,” says Mr van Hoesel.

The agreement was signed at the Food Value Chain and the Food Safety & Compliance conferences 28-29 March 2017 at the Pulman Hotel, Auckland. Both Claire Massey and Roger van Hoesel are guest speakers at the conferences.
